Circuit Operation Principle The LED lantern circuit consists of a multivibrator A, a multivibrator B, and a light-emitting diode VLl-VLl2, as shown in Figure 1-159.

Multivibrator A consists of resistors R5, R6, potentiometer RP1, capacitors C1, C2 and transistors V1, V2; multivibrator B consists of resistors R7, R8, potentiometer RP2, capacitors C3, C4 and transistor V3 And V4.
After the multivibrator A oscillates, the VLl-V flashing illumination is driven by R1 and R2; after the multivibrator B oscillates, the VL5-VLl2 blinking illumination is driven by R3 and R4.
By adjusting the resistance values ​​of RP1 and RP2, the duty ratios of the output waveforms of the multivibrator A and the multivibrator B can be changed, thereby changing the blinking effect of the LED.
Component selection
Rl-R4 selects 1/2W metal film resistor for use; R5-R8 selects 1/4W metal film resistor for use.
The RP1-RP2 uses a small solid potentiometer or a variable resistor.
Cl-C4 selects Aluminum Electrolytic Capacitors with a withstand voltage of 16V.
VLl-VLl2 selects φ5mm or φ8mm LEDs.
Vl-V4 selects S80SO or BC548 type silicon NPN transistor.
